Back-to-school checklist by grade
What primary, secondary and university students need, without buying twice.
Back-to-school shopping goes wrong in two ways: buying too much in August and missing the one item the teacher asks for in week one. Start from the school list and add only what the timetable needs.
Step by step
- Primary: ergonomic bag, grid notebooks, pencils, eraser, ruler, colouring set, labelled bottle.
- Secondary: lined notebooks by subject, calculator allowed in exams, geometry set, folders.
- University: laptop backpack, one good notebook system, USB drive, desk lamp for the dorm.
- Label everything on day one.
- Buy paper and pens in packs; they are cheaper and always used.
